Question How do you get in?

How can you get a job in Ops. or Dispatch if you have no experience?
It has to be around the Heathrow/Maybe Gatwick area as I cannot afford to relocate.
Is there a course you can do ?
Please help!!!

hi

I'm fairly new to all this too but eventually managed to get into the ops room.

I'd suggest start at somewhere like Servisair or Globeground, Virgin etc. Ground/pax handling or possibly even straight in as a junior dispatcher. stick with that for a while a learn the basics - codes/ abbreviations / a/c types porcedures etc and you can progress thru companies like this suprisingly quick if you're good.]

apply to airlines, theres plenty of ops bases where you are, but dont expect to get into the likes of ba/cityflyer/virgin etc straight away.

yeah, it takes time, but work your way up and never get bored in your job.

good luck!
