Question Snow & Dispatch

Hi all,

Today GLA was snow closed from about 0600 till 1030.

We had a very animated discussion at our ATC management meeting as to how we at the ATC Centre should deal with it.

In one corner, let the airlines deal with it, and if they go into the hold and then divert, then so be it. That's what we're paid for.

In the other, put a zero landing rate restriction on so that they have to file to go elsewhere or stay on the ground at dep airport.

Views anyone ? If given snowclosed at a destination, would you file and hope for the best ? Or expect a diversion and refile, but maybe get into original if it cleared up.

I ask, because we want to set a policy for our flow management people and want to try and do what you, the customers, want.
