Just wondering if everybody is pretty much. .standard 20 days + 8 public holidays, or if. .there is much variation. I have a feeling that. .at the moment there are a few companies trying. .to take advantage.

A bitter point at the moment we get 14 days holiday + 4 days bank holiday I.e. total of a poksy 18 days a year. My husband gets 30 days a year + all bank holidays but does not have the advantage of using his "off shift days" they have to count weekends as days off.

started new job last year, at the interview told 20 days + bank holidays , where 1 day = 1 x 12 hour shift, now when we start comencing shifts 20 days = 8 hour shifts and no bank holidays . Its great when the company keeps changing their goal posts !!!! Mad , i wish I stayed were I was, mind you I shouldnt complain because fortunatly I still have a job.... .Cheers ML

What about the system of having to cover other peoples leave for no money.. .I worked for a handling agent where everybody had 25 days including bank holidays, but you were forced to cover each other's leave.. .This meant that you got 25 days off, but had to work an extra 25 days a year.. .I sincerely hope this system no longer exists anywhere, and that the gentleman who introduced and enforced it in order to impress the senior management gets similarly shafted. <img src="mad.gif" border="0">
