Virgin Blue Crewing

Guys / Girls

I have noticed Virgin Blue are recruiting for Crewing staff (Aircrew Roster Control) on www.seek.com.au

Has anybody got any thoughts on this company and conditions and location (Brisbane) etc, as I'm thinking of applying?

Thanks

Thumbs down Virgin Blue

Well if you like playing a game of chess with only the pawns and no other pieces then this is the job for you.

They have a real Flight Crew shortage from what I hear. Pilots don't want to answer their phones from a private number. Work calling them in on their days off, etc.

Probably why there is vacancies in that area though. The people in rostering are probably fed up with being blamed with the shortfalls in crewing planes..........

They need to employ more pilots is what they need to do.

I'm not a pilot looking for work by the way.

They seem a great bunch of people in crewing, pretty easy-going but I have to agree, it does seem they are short of crew and it must make their job unrewarding. Not that it bothers me, I'm always happy (and many other FA's are) to work for some extra cash but from what I hear the pilots seem to be over it.

Just out of curiousity what sort for ratio of tech crews per aircraft do they run ?
Are they just being stingey or are they genuinely having trouble finding crews?
