Flight Plan Amendments
HELP please!
If a flight plan has been submitted to IFPS and acknowledged by IFPS can anyone amend it WITHOUT consulting the captain / originator?
I can't find any references in ICAO or CAA docs wit the information so if anyone can provide an answer and a specific reference I would be most grateful.

yes, i think this is possible as long as you have a link to ifps (be it sita or aftn...).
that´s not the way it should be, but you definitely can change other companies flight plans...
do you intend to change routings of other companies in order to get better atc slots for your flights?
cheers ralf

Basically...YES.
I say basically because there are a lot of reasons someone would change a FPL. Either being an FBO that is correcting a FPL for a crew, a National Authority if not complying with some really specific regulation, a spanish cancelling FPLīs that donīt comply with THEIR requisites...( )
Basically (again...) if you change someoneīs FPL there are a couple of considerations you should take into account:
1-You should NEVER change a FPL that has not been either originated/filed by your station (also because in loss of comms, the crew will fly the route that they have on THEIR FPL thus causing a serious safety problem īcause ATC are counting on the crew flying the routing they have on their system);
2-Not professional and not respectfull;
3-If you like not getting paid by doing someone elseīs job... ;
4-That is why staff on IFPS call themselves the originators in order to change the routing/FL on a FPL that has gone to manual processing due some error...
Cheers,
