What does being a ground service op entail?

Hi I'm new to this game and might be getting a job as a ground service op and just wondered if someone or some people could just give me a brief insight into a shift as an op at a birtish airport?

bad back,bad pay, you get shafted, t & c's are getting worse every year, do something else.....paint a pretty picture !!

hiya! well I think it depends on who you work with, i'm quite lucky and work with a great bunch of lads and have a great time and really enjoy it. The pay is pretty awful and there's not much in the way of a career to make out of it. That said though it can be great fun!

At the moment just before the season kicks in, at small-medium airport i'm at usually have 5 or so aircraft to do in a shift (usually between 7-9 hours). Summer its usually going from one aircraft to the other, not much chance for a break and lots and lots of overtime!!
