airport charges?
could somebody please give me some info on airport charges? Obviously there are incurred landing fees/passenger service charges when using an airport however if an airline has a 'slot' at an airport does this involve paying for all associated charges in one go for say, 1 year?

No, its free to hold slots and if you have negotiated a decent handling contract, and had a meeting with the airport concerned there shouldnt be any need to pay too far in advance.
If you have an AOC (??) you will already of have to prove that you have the financial backing in place to operate adaquately, most airport operators will take that as a sign that you can afford to pay your bills, however not always.
