Question Overflight Pemits

Greetings

Just wondering how our Flight Operations ppl seek and get overflight permits for a ad-hoc say frm London/Heathrow to
say Lagos/Nigeria on a last minute basis

Wud a request to relevant local authorities thru AFTN suffice

Your views from all over welcomed

Tnks in advance

If you use CAP555 they have all the contact details for appropriate CAA's.....how quickly are you wanting to go and type of flight, non scheduled empty ferry or loaded/pax??

AFTN ok in some cases but not all connected to AFTN

Lightbulb Permits

OpsC

Do you have a copy of the CAP555 ??

If you want to get these permits on short notice then u can use a outfit based at EGGW known as Swift Air Dispatch, these guys can get short notice permits without any major problems

It's an excercise and not a real operation.

Tnks VP8/Crocman2005 for sharing
Anywhere I can get an online version of CAP555 ?

LHR2YYC
Never thought abt Jepps ! Will take a look at work

While scheduled ops has reasonable advance notice, its the last minute thingy I'm worried most. Especially if the overfly region is hostile and downright bureaucratic with numerous hassles and red-tapes.

Tnks once again

Ops Control...

If you are looking at some of the more bureaucratic nations etc you cant do any worse than try Ramjet in RKT, they have pulled us out of the mire a few times with short notice permits... seems to have a good repore withe the CAA's he works with...PM me if you need contacts

permits

Ops,
if you are in a bind to get permits for overflying and/or landing in African counrties try contacting LANDOVER. They have helped us out on several ocations. Seems that they have good contacts in most of the african countries. For south-east Asia and India you should get in contact with an outfit called SRC. PM me if you want details.
