AMM Task
This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway...
Take, for example, AMM TASK 71-13-00-200-010 ('Detail Inspection of the FCDs') for the A318/19/21/21. This task is not stated in the MRB or the associated MPD. What is, therefore, the reason for this task being there? Obviously inspections of the cowling are required, but I want to know what drives such an inspection to be in the AMM when it isn't instructed by the MRB/MPD. Many Thanks |
Hi Gen,
I've just looked at the AMM and it states the following:- TASK 71-13-00-210-010 General Visual Inspection of the Fan Cowl Hinge Fittings 1. Reason for the Job Refer to the MPD TASK: 711300-03 Cheers |

The MPD doesnīt give it all...
GEnxsux,
A few more possibilites for "orphan" AMM tasks: - There used to be an MPD / MRBR item in previous issues (or even other aircraft models!); AMM taks hasnīt been deleted. - There will be a MPD / MRBR item in the next revision of these documents, but the AMM revision comes in advance (not bearing the MPD ref. as it doesnīt exist at that time). - The AMM task is a TSM task. - The AMM task is associated to the MEL (De-/Reactivation procedure). - The task gives instructions for "routine" / "non-routine" work that is not driven by the maintenance programme, e. g. inspection of certain A330/A340 LP-valve actuators for correct dimensions at installation. I suppose there are many more routes...! Maintaining airplanes is a lot more complex than the MPD makes us believe... ;) Cheers, J.V. |
