Fuel imbalance

Hi, could anyone tell me what the max fuel imbalance is in the wings on a 767 only on the ground during refuelling, the starboard wing lags way behind the port whilst refuelling due to the fuel going into the port wing and i was just wondering if there is a max imbalance allowed, is it a case of shutting the port and centre tanks down so the starboard can catch up

cheers:ok:

There is no limit on the ground. During maintenance you can put all the fuel in one wing, so you can work in the other.

Hi Steve thanks for that info.......seems some of these pilots tend to think that 1 figure in the air means thats the figure the imbalnce cant go above, anyway thanks again for info

Fuel Imbalance

No limits on ground. During normal refueling for a turnaround,
the dialed in settings will automatically shut off appropriate tanks.
If there is room, all fuel can be transfered to one wing, for maintenance.
Max imbalance inflight is about 3000lbs before the pilot will correct.
Inherent problem on some A/C due to uneven fuel pump feeds.
I think Boeing is still working with pump manuf. on this.
