BA 787 red engine covers
Possibly not the right place to ask... Driving along the LHR Northern Perimeter Road this morning, I noticed several BA 787s with red covers over the front of the engines. I did not see this on other aircraft parked there and don’t recall seeing similar on other 787s. What’s the story? |
The BA 787s parked up longish term (due to the engine issues) at the BA base, the big maintenance facility adjacent to Hatton Cross Tube Station/Eastern Perimeter Road (which feeds into the Northern) often sported these covers...Haven't been around there for a few months so not sure if any are still parked up.
If they were parked at T5 I have no idea of the story. |

Don't think they have any engines on them in fact, the covers are protecting the pylon and the fan casing.
