B1 or B2?
 
Hello everyone,

I'm looking into where my future lies with 4 years left in the RAF, I'm considering studying for my civ licences.

Currently qualified Avionics tech and Q'd on Typhoon and Hawk aircraft. 8 years experience.

My main question is the best way to go about getting a civilian qualification. Also I've been looking at potential jobs and most adverts are for B1 engineers with only a few B2 adverts appearing. As I'm currently experienced in avionics I was thinking of going the B2 route but having second thoughts, can anyone provide further guidance?

Go for which ever is your strongest then you can convert from one to the other.
You can hold B1 and B2. Quite a few hold dual qualification but very few are really top class at both.

B1 is definitely the better option. But then I'm biased :O

+1 to that, your reputation is a big thing so don't neglect your years of transferrable experience to chase a larger number of job adverts.

Do the B1, then do the extension to B2, it's an easier route to complete both licences rather than going B2 to B1. You will make yourself very employable.
