Learning a lot from you guys thanks

i agree that things are different here and in the middle east. about the job finding its all down to you to understand that you may have to relocate your self into other countries to find jobs.

about the fact that you went over an oral board its again your company policy.
my company policy its for me to have the relative paper work and experience and a visit to my quality manager for an oral exam. but in the end of the day what ever i need to know its in the company server and that is 1st the AMM and the company procedures. experience is gained day by day.

your quality manager should never ask you to know everything cos at the end of the day procedures and the AMM can change

What kind of oral examination do you sit for? company procedures?
Ours is technical oral in which your technical knowledge and experience is tested then you become an unapproved licensed engineer after passing it, Then company procedures and then you get approved.

''your quality manager should never ask you to know everything cos at the end of the day procedures and the AMM can change ''

No one is expecting anyone to know everything but engineers knowledge and experience must be reasonable atleast to be elligible of releasing aircraft thats the whole point of it and this requirment is ascertained through the board examination.

'' about the job finding its all down to you to understand that you may have to relocate your self into other countries to find jobs.''
I assume you are already fully aware of the fact that finding a job abroad with only the 147 certificate which is worthless on its own with no hands-on is next to impossible, It takes a tremendous amount of experience (10 years or so) for someone to be globally employable.

i am aware of the fact that there is a recession in the industry but there jobs here and there usually in europe. u just have to look for them and have the appropriate qualifications and be able to leave from your country for a while. i had an offer to work in poland but i turn it down due to personal reasons. the money was fair but i lacked the insensive to move there. if i wasnt tied up with some other jobs here in Cyprus i would have been there already.

Immmm let me tell you what you really need. You want to become a pilot and you want golden plated insurance that you will become a pilot.as you don't have that much cash to burn.

To bring you to real life.there is no guarantee in your life you will get a job as technician or pilot or easa b1 engineer. You may even die during your course even.

The situation to your course. If you are from a developincountry and you have limited resources.I estimated your reserves as 30000usd becoz that's what it will cost to train for b1 easa engineer in a part 147.do a degree in Finland or Germany which will allow you to work there after you graduate.find a flying school or an airline and work towards your dream of being a pilot.incase you didn't make it at least you have degree and a job in a better country

I started with the EASA Part 66 program when I was 17, started as an apprentice when I was 19 and got my B1 license when I was 21. So I gues that you will nedd app. 4 years to complete the edeucation. Ass an apprentice I got the oppertunity to work a lot of overtime, and earned approxemetly 80K $ a year.. With my B1 certificate I could easely make 100K a year if the financial crise could hide for a coupple of more years.. They gave me the oppurtunity to work both heavy-, and line maintenance, so I think the apprentice time was really great!

So there is possible, but it`s a long way to go just to save money so you can get another edeucation. But it`s a great edeucation to go back to if you don`t get hired as a pilot, and my experience is that it`s a very good edeucation which has given me plenty of job offers outside the airline industry as well!

Good luck with your choice!

Has anyone used Part66-Engineer app on the iphone and then sat the EASA exams? Just wondered how accurate they are. Been using it for a few weeks and it has helped my knowledge level. There's a flashcard section in the new update as well.
