Fuel Gauges
Just a quick question to all of you ground engineers out there.
Do any of you have any experiance/knowledge about how difficult it is or would be to change a B707-320C that has fuel guages calibrated in Kgs over to Lbs?
i.e. is it just a matter of changing the gauges or do all the fuell quantity cells need to be replaced etc ?

Just replace the guages. However they will also have to be recalibrated and this can be quite a job in itself!
If you are using a test set it is time consuming but simple enough. If no test set is available then you will need to transfer fuel around to calibrate the guages. So the job will take almost a day!
hope this helps.
Cheers.

if you don't have a test set the job could more than a day,as you will have to fill & empty each tank,& defuelling a 707 is a long process. i suggest you get a test set. by the way,who do you work for? i thought we were the last operators of 707's. cheers
