From Company approval to JAR66
Hiya,
I've just got my JAR66 License, before that we had a JAR145 company approval B1/1 or B2 to sign off the logbooks...
at this time it was legal but it wasn't a proper license.
For my company there isn't any differences....I think they are hudge. We now are personaly responsible....
It would be great if some of you could tell me "how they are treated" as a licensed engineer.Pay bonus, rating bonus if several approvals, run up etc...answers froms Europe and USA would be very welcome.
Thanks for doing that,I'll send you some sun from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport
Allo Allo "Ze waitress wants my body...."

JAR 66
Hi ,
I understand.
Some companies have their own(boarding) school (AF)...so the poeple have a bond a 5 yrs / otherwise they pay !
We do have private technical schools starting after the hight school ("O"level I think) to get a "Certificate of Aircraft Maintenance"...
in some other school they do an apprenticeship of 3 yrs.I can't tell you what is the cost. The syllabus is matching with the JAR examination. Then to get an approval and the JAR license you have to prove a job experience and a minimum of level 3 course.
Now the school are switching for JAR licenses ,the exams will be the same as they already matched with the JAR.Briefely we had all the structures, knowledges and requiered level to get a license but nothing called a license at the end.
I personaly come from the Air Force where I payed with years of duty. Then I managed to get my A&P FAA that wasn't free. The 1st licenses issuance are free for the moment.
I have got 10 B1-1/B2 appovals my job is to run a shift of engineers(and to sign off log books as well) and I hardly go over 1500£ / month.
Thanks for trying to understand.
Cheers
