Yes, You can still hold a UK licence, which covers none EASA types, at the time you could convert your licence over to an EASA one under grandfather rights, but retain both, I still have my old Section L licence too, the UK one is free to renew if you hold the EASA part 66 Licence. if you don't it's cough up the readies.

I forgot to add, if you are considering resurrecting them, you may find very few in Licencing will have a clue, gone are the days of having Engineers in the place that understood the licences, but persevere, it only took them 10 years to get an aircraft that should have been on mine corrected.
I held the full group with it in and then they add it as a stand alone without the airframe on my licence.... they then tried to tell me you could have / hold a FULL group without an aircraft that was in the FULL group. Pointing out that isn't a full group then went waaaaayyy over their heads.
It was only because it was originally listed out of the group due to performance limitations that it would only have met / exceeded if you smelted it down into an artillery round and fired it out of a cannon.
They then realised the error, corrected it and moved it into the group, but not on my licence!
They are also trying to figure out post Brexit.
