EASA B2 experience: Base vs Line.

Good morning everyone,

Which would be better, line or base maintenance, to gain the 3 years experience required for the EASA B2 licence?

If I had the choice between 2 jobs as an unlicensed mechanic at different airlines, one in line maintenance and the other in base maintenance. Which should I pick? (All other things being equal e.g. pay, location).

I have experience in base maintenance (albeit on military aircraft) but have not worked line before. From my perspective, I always thought base maintenance would get you some of the necessary experience required to work line maintenance. Or is this not needed? Does anyone have any experiences jumping straight into line?

Any information about this would help greatly.

Thanks.
