737NG tyre wear

This question is particularly for 737NG with bias tyres (may apply to other bias tyres but I wouldn't know).

1. Physically looking at a tyre, especially with a deep cut, how would you know if the carcass ply or thread reinforcement ply is exposed? How can you differentiate the two?

2. What is meant by "fabric" being exposed in a tyre - is this the tread reinforcement ply or carcass ply?

The terms above are mentioned in 737NG MM32-45-00 I/C

Cheers!

Stick your screw driver in the cut and you will find out.
