CAA UK TYPE RATING PROCESS TIME?

Anybody can please share their experience related to following
  1. Process time for first type rating on B1.1 license?
  2. Do they usually deduct money when they receive the application or they deduct after everything is checked and they are ready to issue the license?

I have no clueabout GATWICK since website says 10 working days.

Appreciate your response

They tend to take the money first , then decide about your application . First license is a lot slower , allow at least 3 weeks !!!!

My last Type rating I added 1 yr ago they didn't charge me till AFTER the process just as it was about to be issued, I only know this as they rang me up as there was an issue with my card, seems like a much better way of doing it rather than paying upfront like some dodgy builder would ask you to do....

8 weeks was the processing time if I remember rightly but they used to say if it was affecting your job prospects then to give them a call and they may whittle it down to 7.5 weeks.

Thank you guys.
Should i give them a follow up call after 10 days? Or just remain silent until they contact me.

After 1st August 2013 - for your 1st type rating only - you will also need to include your Part 145 OJT Sheets as well as your Part 147 Certificate for theoretical and practical training elements.

Thought OJT sheets will be required for every type after August?

No , after Aug only practical certificates will be accepted , Ojt worksheets will not beaccepted . For your first type rating you will have to submit BOTH .

Called CAA UK for follow up, and advised by operator to wait, your case is still in process and license is not yet issued.

Prioritys in order there

Waiting, waiting, waiting
