A person commenting on a misspelling in a forum who spells Phantom, Fantome.......

ah..... but if you had a penchant for the outstanding biplanes of yore you would understand why 'Fantome' is so called.

I've been in this game a long time and have always worked on the basis that "Engineers English" should convey the facts and if there are errors in grammar or spelling then as long as the message is clear it doesn't matter very much.

At a place I worked in the '70s one of the guys would go round putting red rings around spelling mistakes on worksheets. The CAA inspector thought this quite funny but asked for it to stop.
