Nahh, the USA made aviation what it is. The cheaper the better. Domestically as it is a "liscence to learn", your whits and drive will sharpen your career.
Not working the MRO's anymore, but it was a trip to see how well a soy bean farmer could take a bag bin apart. Now a dedicated AMT can define himself as a LAME would under your CAA.

For foreign (Non US citizen & those from non English speaking countries), there was one school which I did some enquiries & they said that anyone who is not from US or non English speaking country must sit for some english language course, which is provided by the school itself, which take about 5 working days!
But another school does not mention anything about this english course.
Don't think FAA has any info on this either, other than be "able to read & understand English"

Avoid em all. Just buy the Jeppessen text books and study guides. Take the exam at any Lasergrade testing station then find a DME off the FAA website. Phone him, negotiate a price and get it done.

There were rumours that chances are if you go through a school to arrange for the written & o&p you stand a good chance of passing,
but if you were to do everything on your own, especially when it comes to o&p, it won't be that easy.
Anyone can comment on this...?

Personal experience, good school, had to write the airframe twice and the DME was professional. I had heard of lesser than but the guy got pinched by the FAA several years after I was liscenced.

There was a guy at CCSF got popped, IIRC, was that the one you had? Black guy, drove a dark green Mercedes, name escapes me at the moment. I "heard" he did a practical that took 11 minutes including a tour of the facility, for $100 in the late 70's

No this guy was in Sanford Florida "Orlando". I had some friends go to him out of A&P school and he basically told them to just hang out for 8 hours and look busy if anyone (FAA) came in. I heard when the FAA took him down some liscences were revoked. This happened more than 10 years ago.
