Halfords Trade Card

For a while i've been thinking of a way to scam a trade card for Halfords (not being in the motor trade) only to find that i'm perfectly entitled to one anyway. Below is a clipping from the Halfords website showing who is elegible and what to show as proof.

Commercial vehicle Mechanics
Police, Fire, Ambulance, Mechanics
Bus Mechanic
Local Authority Mechanic
Recovery Mechanic
College Motor Vehicle Staff College ID stating you are a Motor vehicle lecturer or any of the above
College apprentice Mechanics Motor trade college enrolment certificate or any of the above
Army Mechanics REME Cerfticiate or any of the above
RAF or Aviation Engineers CAA Certificate or airside engineering pass or Aircraft Engineering Maintenance Licence

You clearly aren't a professional scammer then if you didn't think to look at the website first!

Before I got the CAA ticket I walked in and asked for one, "No" said the 40 something year old Manager, went to the same one the next day and asked, "Yes", said the 16 year old spotty manager (?).

Now I am entitled to one I don't feel so bad! Some quite good discount on somethings, not so much on other items although I also use SC for quite a lot of the stuff I need these days as I live near the one in Forest Hill.

I went in uniform and they said no so showed them my ID which at the time said A & C Technician and told them 'Oh that stands for Aircraft AND Car' - They seemed convinced after that...
