Aeromechanical Engineering Jobs

Hi all,

I'm currently looking into courses to do at uni and aeromechanical engineering has been jumping out at me for years now but I've only just started thinking about jobs at the end of it. Does anyone know if a degree in aeromechanical engineering could get me into the field of research and/or design in, say, the renewable energy sector or other similar engineering sector? Also, does anyone know what jobs in aerospace research and/or development are available in Scotland and northern England (except Rolls-Royce in Derby)?

Thanks in advance for your answers as it will really help me choose a career path (so no pressure then ).
