Mi-8/17 Weight and Balance
I'm attempting to perform weight and balance calculations on an Mi-17 and there is a measurement that I don't seem to understand. If anyone here has specific experience performing weight and balances on Mi-17, I'd love to hear from you.
The specific measurement is the distance from the main rotor axis to the the axis of the main wheels. My questions (some of them, at least) are:
Is this measurement something that is static and should be found somewhere in the aircraft logbook or passports? (I have not found it yet, so if it's there, please let me know where I might look.)
What method is used to extend the main rotor axis line to the ground below the aircraft in order to facilitate making this measurement, if it is not already somewhere in the aircraft records?
Does it matter if the main wheels are on the ground or do they have to be raised above the ground with jacks? That is, as the aircraft rises and falls with the wheels on the ground (as the shock strut expands and contracts), do the wheels extend and retract along an axis that is parallel to the main rotor axis?
Thanks!

Weight & Balance
Hello;
I am also trying to do a Weight & Balance Report for MI-17. Did you get any answers to your questions? I am looking for Waterline/Station Line/Butt Line information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
