Sabena technics contracting????

Hi,

I'm supposed to be starting a contract in Brussels on the 30th with Protec, but it looks like the whole Protec office has gone on Christmas holidays without sending me any of the important details that I need.

Does anyone know anything about the accommodation at Brussels or have a contact number for someone that deals with contractors? At this rate I'm going to end up not going, but I don't want to burn bridges with Sabena Techinics by not turning up, just because Protec aren't able to give me the info I need before starting.

Cheers,

LG

That's useful to know. Will put them on my list of crap agencies then, along with about 3 others. Personally I've found most agencies to be pretty crap and liberal with the truth, the worst of them being Resource who are utter w*nkers.

Thumbs up Protec are OK

Hi

I have worked for Protec twice, both times at Sabena Technics, most recently last July 2010 at Sabena in Dinard for 7 weeks. When I started there Protec kept me informed by telephone or e-mail and the hotel was good there also Protec paid on time every week without fail so cant complain about them.
Just remember it has been Christmas weeks so you've gotta cut them a bit of slack, they were probably on leave.

Well, contract fell through and they arsed me around. Time for a career change I think as this industry is far too volatile for me.

volatile it certainly is! but it sounds like protec were unable to offer commitment to you from the start with this sabena job. I have had good and bad experiences with agencies - interesting looking back through this thread and the negative comment about resource. I contracted with them throughout most of 2010 and they've been excellent - on time payments and rarely out of work. good luck with the next job lovegroove.

Yep, found Resource to be one of the best. Communication is excellent and pay on time

Have been on several short contracts with Protec on and off for the last 3 years and never had a problem with them at all, certainly always paid on time and correct amounts! just shows how experiences vary I guess.
