Part 145 D1

Hi there,
I am looking after requirements for Part 145 D1 (NDT - Non Destructive Testing). There are lot of things on website (2042/2003) about A, B or C requirements, but cant find any info for D1.
Anybody please have checklist or manual for steps, which is necessary to do for recieve D1 certification?

Thanks for any info
Petr

FWIW, and I guess you may have been there already; in the Consolidated (ie up to date) version of 2042/2003, Part M Appendix IV, from page 56, has some information on D1 NDT.

If you require NDT (term changing to NDI) for aircraft or components going through your facility, you don't need a D1 rating but you need all the capability etc such as indicated in 145.A.30 (f), the associated AMC and of course the MOE you will write. See Appendix II, paragraph 7 of Part 145. Also note that for work you carry out under this arrangement, you do not need to issue a Form 1 for what is essentially ship-shop-ship.

If you want to sell the service, compliance 145.A & AMC 30 (f) and the necessary procedure to issue a Form 1. In this latter case, you will have to indicate in the MOE how if you visit their facility how you interface with the customer; how you receive necessary approved data from your customer etc.

PM me for more info. I've done a few approvals and MOEs.

You should also get a copy of EN4179, the current version is 2009.
