Sim Techs?

I've just finished a course as an avionics AME and I'm considering going for a job as an apprentice flight sim tech. I have some questions for anyone in this field.

If I choose to go down this path am I locked into simulators, never to return to aircraft without retraining?

Is it something you enjoy and can you tell me more about what is involved?

What are the pay and conditions like?

G'day mate. As you may be able to tell from my log in, I am in the field. You will develop talents in many areas, namely hydraulics, avionics, computer networking, amongst others. It depends on your team if it's enjoyable, but I've been doing it for 15 years and still look forward to going in! You also get to do something you cant do in your current field, which is go flying!!!! I've also just been informed it's the first 40 years are the worst

Also must add that you wont earn as much as an AME, but you will be in an airconditioned building!
