Best Gamble to take ??
HI there guys.I would like to get some guidance of where I could do my aircraft maintenance engineering .I did read many post in this forum regarding AME and on a overall thing don’t seem to be good for AME’s too.
I am from India. I have done my bachelor’s degree in the field of Electrical and Electronics and I have worked in dell computer for 2 years as a hardware technician. I am 24 years old right now and Job satisfaction is not there. I was always interested in aviation and still very interested in pursuing my carrier in aviation as an aircraft maintenance engineer. Many people did tell me to stick to the job I have and to the field of computers since aviation right now is not a good place to be in. I would be safe with the job that I have right now but would never be satisfied. So I have decided to do a degree or diploma course in aircraft maintenance engineering, the problem is where should I do it??
So considering the situation of aviation right and with the hoping the best happens for aviation in the future let me frame my question this was. Which would be the best gamble??
• Which would be the best country to do AME?
• Since I already have an undergraduate degree is it enough if I do a diploma course or is doing a degree in AME better?
• In which university or college do students have the best possibility in terms of On job training (OJT) after finishing a course in AME?
• What are the best colleges or universities to do AME?
• From speaking to people many told me that with regards to OJT, Canada would be the best choice even though they have only diploma course?
• Do you guys know universities in Canada that offer a BSC [Hons] degree like Kingston and Glamorgan do?
• I heard that only AME license in UK and USA is globally recognized! Is that true?
• Neither my undergraduation nor my work experience relates to aviation. Is an apprenticeship for AME possible?
From my research here are some of the universities that I have chosen go. Do let me know of other universities or colleges, which you think would be a better. Hope your opinions would help me take a good firm decision. And guys thanks a lot for spending you time in reading such a long post. It’s much appreciated .
