Hello,

I know that City of Bristol College in the UK run such courses. Depending on whether you want fixed wing or rotary. You would have to call them to see if they are running rotary course modules as I am not so sure.

Or perhaps you could try Lufthansa Resource Technical Training. They offer modules run throughout the year.

I also know of Bostonair Training who are also based in Bristol in the UK offer an intensive B1.1 course.

As for the pricing of these courses, you would have to refer to their respective websites. You could perhaps look on the CAA website for the Part 147 approved training organisations and then research the listed companies and see if they will offer short courses for your chosen subjects.

I was looking for these to.

AST do one, which is £4500 + vat, but they are the only ones who do a full B2 syllabus.

LRTT do modules 1,2,3,7,8,9,10 and 13. Prices vary dependant on courses

Ive not really looked at the B1 route

I know virgin do B1 courses...

Tbh, after doing alot of research, i decided the best route was self study, and doing the odd course for the ones your struggling with.

Though it depends if you want to work during this period or not, as i do not want to leave my job to do it. Obviously if your not working, then the courses may be a better option for you.

Heres some links to look at,

Lufthansa Resource | Technical Training | Courses

Air Service Training Perth UK aircraft maintenance training

Virgin Atlantic Airways - Popup

Hope these help

In order that aircraft be maintained to a safe standard it is important that the engineer has a certain degree of theoretical knowledge and practical experiance.

Sucess is therefore not gaureenteed, you have to work hard to know the subject to meet the required standard.

Your Indian Air Force experience won't help you (unless you record and verify what you have done, but that depends on what NRA you will apply to as there are 25 issuing authorities in EASA!) As for the examinations, got a 147 certified centre in India? Try them. Do not come to the UK because there is very little work at the moment.

No they won't.. Read these..

ELGD

You have to find a job as a permenant mechanic or as a contractor at a PART 145 organisation. If you are not doing a college course for B1 (self improver), you may need up to 5 years!! A Jaguar/Mirage?whatever you work on is not a Boeing/Airbus.. Please do not come to the UK because there isn't the work. You will mostly be disapointed..

If I remember correctly, the Newcastle Aviation Academy uses City Of Bristol College's Part 147 approval. Naturally the training material is similar if not the same as the College. Also, I don't think NAA offers a short course, just a full time B1 course. You may perhaps be better off with an LRTT course or some of the others mentioned in the previous posts.
