A320 production standards (well 1.3.2 really)
What is the history of the A320 production standards, specifically: 1.3.2. Are there any of this standard still flying, if not why not? If modified what standard did it go to, 1.3.3?

I initially could not understand your question, but on reflection I think you are after informaton about very early A320 series, appears from the fleet lists that only the first 21 CFM powered were built as a dash 100 series (111, light weight varient). The first IAE powered aircraft being number 28, listed as A320-231 and the later aircraft being delivered as A320-232. I was a late starter on the aircraft type during early 1989, when BA was operating there first few aircraft. when they were more like groundbuses.

Thanks allthatglitters, but . . . . not quite. The current production standard is 1.5, I could be wrong. So to start with, what dates did the different production standards roll off the production line. A potted history of the A320 if you will. Any helpful URLs?
Thanks

Airbus Standards - A320 family
Hi,
I cannot go all the way back to the begining of the A320 family but I think this is what you are after :
Std. 1.0.0 Do not have the SB or Date
Std. 1.1.0 Do not have the SB or Date
Std. 1.2.0.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.2.0 released 6/9/99
Std. 1.3.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.3.0 released 19/12/01 (2nd issue)
Std. 1.3.1.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.3.1 released 10/07/02
Std. 1 3.2.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.3.2 released 4/11/03 (3rd issue)
Std. 1.4.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.4.0 released 20/07/05
Std. 1 5.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.5.0 released 26/10/06
Std. 1.6.0 Service Bulletin SB A320-1.6.0 released 28/01/08
No URL that I know of but hope that helps - I've taken it from the Airbus Data we have for our Simulator fleet so they are not the 'Production Dates of the Aircraft' but the Date that the Bulletin was issued.
Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard, very informative (and thanks for the work done to obtain the information), makes me wonder how many bugs 1.3 had to warrant the minor updates.
Back to my 1.3.2 question, I think there's no UK operator that originally had the 1.3.2 still fly A/C at the original standard; again I could be wrong. Would be nice to hear from an A/C engineer to say I am wrong.
Thanks again Richard
Thanks all
Erb

Airbus Standards
Hi Erb,
I cannot answer the question about whether anyone in the UK still operates 1.3.2 aircraft but just for a bit of additional information, below I have listed some of the changes between 1.3.2 and today - note that this a very much simplified list, in reality there are many more items affected !
1.3.2 to 1.4.0 Updated FAC, Alternate sources for FMGC and MCDU, Updated ELAC, SEC and FCDC, plus the changeover to LED Switch Lighting
1.4.0 to 1.5.0 Updated FCU, FMGC, BSCU, ISIS, CDLS and FADEC
1.5.0 to 1.6.0 Updated FMGC (commonality across all A320 family plus A330/340), FWC, ADIRS, ECU (on CFM Engine aircraft), EEC (on IAE Engine aircraft)
Cheers,
Richard

Thanks yet again Richard, look like a really boring thread with no know-it-all out there willing to chip in with some hard core info; apart from Richard (not saying you're a know-it-all Richard, but I know you better than you think bcal )

Curious .....
Hi Erb,
You've obviously got a good memory, I left BCAL back in 1990 !
PM me if you are feeling nostalgic, I've tried working out who you are but have given up !
Cheers,
Richard
