Question Collins VHF 251 and VIR 351

When I hit the PTT, the sidetone dies completely and the circuit breaker pops. Is it an easy fix or should I scrap the radio and get a reconditioned one?

The glideslope on the VIR 351 does not work either, should I scrap it instead of paying for someone to tell me it will cost more than it is worth?

Look for a short in the PTT switch, a common occurance.

With the nav, fix is nearly always cheaper than replace, as these are rather good units.
