Airbus panel codes

When I walk round my old Airbus I see that many of the panels have a code on them,e.g 123AB.Does a list exist for each Airbus type of which panel is which and where can I find it?

TL.
They are also listed in the MPD (Maintenance Planing Document) for your a/c type.

Tubby,

The 'code' on the panel gives its location. Since you are already looking at the panel, it tells you nothing you didn't know already.

123AB 'decoded' means;

1 - zone (1 - lower fuselage, 2 - upper fuselage, 3 - empannage, 4 - nacelles, 5 - left wing, 6 - right wing, 7 - landing gear, 8 - doors)
2 - sub-zone
3 - sub sub-zone
A - sequence
B - locator (T - top, B - bottom, L - left, R - right, Z - interior)

The Airbus CLM (component locator manual) also has panel stuff in it. Great for c/b info.

Tubby,

Are you flight Deck or Engineering?
I ask because if you are Engineering and don't know about panel numbering then thats a little bit of a worry!

Definetly..

Bring back BCAR + oral examinations with immediate effect..

We all know you can certainly afford it.. However, maybe something
to do with approx just x 9 UKCAA employees with LAE background's currently in the UKCAA SRG Engineer's PLD...

Why do you think there are so many anomalies with initial licence applications, renewals (5 year or rolling) & adding type or group
ratings etc?

The admin staff do their best BUT not all Form 19s or nicely worded
requests get full surveyor attention - A 'glance' shall we say..
One thing's for sure, the revenue stream remains priority ££££
