Engineering Licences

Could someone tell me where I can learn about the licenses involved in Avionics so that I can start getting familiar with the route from student to professionally licensed engineer.

Is the structure similar to pilot studies where the basics are learned on a light aircraft and then you progress onto type ratings?

try the CAA website
http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?ca...ype=68&gid=196

Not sure if they follow the same requirement for the CAA in the UAE. Try the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) website or the governing body that looks after the UAE civil aviation.
