If the powers that be were really committed to the level of security they mouth off about, they'd fund it accordingly.

.. and then we'd see the back of these jobsworths.

In the mean time, the Budget rules.

Well, the email to my MP didn't seem to hit a note for human rights... apparently she has just visited the police at the airport and observed the security measures at LGW and it seems they are looking for further measures to ensure safety for everyone... id cards and dna samples here we come along with the muted walk through x-ray machines.. watch out if you have any piercings in hidden places!

She did say that she would follow up my complaint which i'm considering but i get the feeling going any further with the complaint might cause problems in the future gaining crc's etc?

Maybe next time i should invoke AWN 47 and go home too stressed to certify... but then that would affect my livelihood and career and that again is against my human rights.

HZ, if you know of hundreds of terrorist fundamentalists working airside, then i suggest you report them... having worked as an engineer at both LHR and LGW for 22+ years, i've never got that impression. I think you may have fallen for the government fear and surprise policy which with the aid of the newspapers snowballs along until we really are in a big brother state.

One more point that was mentioned earlier in the thread about ambulances having to be searched, it seems the police vehicles don't. I've seen several just drive straight through. So there are different levels of security. Maybe extremists might want to paint up a transit van in cheques and strips, fix a flashing blue light on top, listen for a emergency call from airside and drive right on through to place their fizzy drink botles where ever they want.

Don't be embarrassed at all. Ask him calmly and loudly if he needed to touch your genitalia quite so much during his search as no other security staff do this. Least he'll know your not a tit

I used to have the same problem with one of the security guys at AMS.
After I made it clear to him that if he "activates" my static wick I expect him to finish what he started, had no more probs
