Minimum bend radius of Co-Axial cable

Hi

Can anyone offer any definitive references to answer a Module 7 question someone recently had at work.....

The question is along the lines of what is the minimum
bend radius of a single co-axial cable.

It seems answers given on old papers and training notes vary between 6,8 or 10 x diameter!

Thanks

BE

Boeing SWPM gives minimum bend radius of a coax as 1.5 in or 6 times the O.D of the cable.

What is the reason for a minimum bend radius of a coax cable? Is it that the inner conductor gets too close to the outer or is the outer sheath likely to come apart?

No less than 6 times the diameter of the cable as Golden Rivet said.

The reason is that you'll distort the insulating material between the core and the braid.
