BA To Close It's Confidential Reporting System

Looks like the guys are upsetting a few too many up at Ivory Towers.
From 20th March the Engineering Talking Point discussion forum will close.
A new forum will be set up where confidential (anonymous) reporting will not be allowed.
Many engineers have questioned this (anonymously of course), but so far BA is continuing with it's process to make all staff who wish to make a comment, which may be critical of any BA procedure/person etc, sign in using their staff number and individual password.
Looks like CHIRP could be a bit busy in future.

I suppose you'll be writing to CHIRP and complaining you don't have enough sandwiches in the vending machines or that you're shift manager smells of fish?
The talking point started off ok but once all the usual suspects with no backbone started writing in slating people personally it was obvious it couldn't carry on as it was.

Before the talking point came around I wrote my grievances on old fashioned paper and delivered it to my GM by hand. Never had any come back and actually got some decent answers in reply. Too many people are scared of their own shadows, if you're brave enough to ask the question be brave enough to stick your name on it.

(I say all this of course hiding behind the anonymity of my username )

Ah yes, let's roll out that old cliche!
If you don't agree you must be management

Settle down fargoo, I was just having a larrfff.

Seriously though, there are some areas within BA Eng that you really would not want to upset 'da management'.
The talking point was a way for individuals who did not have a sympathetic ear to talk to to air their views. Yes, I know there were a few silly ones complaining about the lack of sarnies in the night shift vending machines but overall there were some serious issues that needed attention.

I for one will miss it as it allowed me to sound off about issues that my immediate line manager either would not address or would have got him so narked as to make my life hell.
