Question EK Engineers thread (where did it go?)

I'm just wondering what happened to the EK engineers thread, I've got an interview coming up and found some of the info useful.

Question

I was just wondering what to expect at the interview, how many jobs are going, where the vacancies are, wht the works like, the place, cost of living, lifestyle etc etc.
Thanks

Red face

Apart from the chat the interview also has a pychometric testing that lasts about 2hrs
your profile is then dicussed a the chat phase.

The cost of living is quite high
a beer can cost nearly 4 quid outside happy hrs or in the big hotels

The work depending on the area you are in
Base gloomy,
Line ok but the shift pattern is 9-9

Dubai itself is great lots to do and good clubs, but the housing policy here is out of control, apartments only that vary from good to downright shabby.

The annual leave is a mess on the 4on 4off shift pattern you lose 2 A/L days for one working day off, I you want a shift off you lose 8 days. so ask questions...

The other pitfall is you will have to re take all your basic licences to obtain a GCAA ticket ie do the written & muli choice within your 6 months probation period.
