Unhappy Work Availability in the UK

Gentlemen,
I have to come over to Europe shortly for an interview in Paris. If this does not pan out, I intend to come to England to work and do my LWTR before they close the door on 31 May 2001.

I have an Australian Engineering Licence (26+ years) on F27, F28, A300B4, A310/A300-600 all A&C and also have Airframe, E&I (not radio) on puddle jumpers.

As this is short notice (I need to be in Paris by 26th June) can anyone suggest who I should be looking up to get work in the UK?

Also, can you offer info on how/where to get reasonable accomodation until I get established in work.

I have been in touch with the UK CAA, and have to do Air Leg and Human Factors (whatever that comprises of) as well as the std tech paper to get the LWTR. What else would I have to do to get the JAR66??

And yes, I do hold a UK passport.

All help gratefully accepted.

Cheers
