Le Pen,

I was wondering the same myself, maybe all the engineers are still working so dam hard that there is no time left at the end of the day/night. Life can pass by so quickly these days.

OK what do you want to talk about?
I've had a couple of Tech delays over the last 2 days, water drain valve stuck open, fuel everywhere, managed to stem the flow and applied stoppaleak. Also Low speed rotor vibes, found starter almost hanging off. B747 CF6-50 powered, pain in the but. Apart from that been a bit busy.

Yeah, so us techies are the strong silent type that never complain.
Except that I've spent the last few days taking apart an absolutely fine Cessna Caravan to practice putting another one on two pallets for freighting.
Catch that?
We're taking it apart.
It's NOT the one we're putting on pallets.
They're both aircraft perfectly capable of proceding to the destination on their own steam.
We're going to put it back together after we take it apart.
Then we'll take apart the one we're really going to ship.

I've got lots of things to say but I'm afraid of offending some-one.

A Caravan's not very big nor very heavy but how would you rate our chances of taking apart 2 aircraft (NB: one just for PRACTICE...JEEZ) and getting them back together without busting something expensive?

Next questions:
Who had the bright idea?
Who protested?
Who gets to assign blame?
Who takes the blame?

Whose got a job for an AME 20 yrs exp inc. manag. lght/med pist/turb/ multi-IFR comm 1500 hours? Iternat.exp. will relocate.

Sourly he said, bye for now!

No question the hours a a killer and by the time I shake off the totally shagged feeling it's hard to think of initiating a topic. I doubt if we are prepared to put our wally hats on in this forum and fess up to the defect that totally stumped us, even though as professionals - yes I definitely think of myself as a professional though very few in the industry accord me that status - we should be big enough to take the answer from the other guy who saw it right away.
We are all frightened of looking silly in front of our peers though I'm sure we have all had that brilliant fix feeling more than once in our careers.
You are only ever as good as your last delay and that really does sell us short.

SeldomFixit:
Entirely 100% correct.
That paragraph ends this thread, I figure.

Hope some of you guys can make it to the Dublin do. Someone's got to cut through all the rubbish from the pilots and controllers....

A warm welcome guaranteed.
