Actually Mattress man here is a comprehensive answer to your question regarding the whereabouts of maintenance men.
Mostly they avoid 'a turbine operation' if they have any sense or experience.
Most of what the guys said in reply regarding pay etc holds true to a largish comercial air transport operation.
However the setup you describe sounds rather like a one horse operation.
These are usually set up by some pilot or entrepreneur who thinks he is going to be the next Richard Branson.
This operation will operated out of a portacabin with no spares and no backup.
The salary will almost certainly be below £30k for which you will be expected to perform miracles on tired old aircraft that no-one loves at all hours of the day or night.
You will however increase your circle of friends as you will be probably be spending a lot of time talking to the SRG dept of the CAA when your Chief pilot/Ops manager decides the requiremets of the ANO or MEL does not apply to your operation.
Take my advice gentlemen avoid companies that do their recruitment on a free site such as pprune.
You do better responding to an advert on the aviationjobsearch site or Flight International.
If they paid for the advert at least some thought went into the requirement.
