Question European Aircraft Maintenance

As we are now under the JAR umbrella, if I purchase an aeroplane in France and wish to keep it on the French register but fly it and maintain it in the UK, can I ? What licence does the engineer need to have to sign it off and does it need to go bacj to it's country of registration for any servicing?

No JAR 66 (Engineer Licencing) does not apply to light aircraft yet.
