Bit of an easy one really, Can anyone tell me if any of the workforce has ever progressed to the world of flying, i.e paid for an ATPL and got a job. It would be nice to hear of this happening. Imyself tried with the raf and got told I didnt have the aptitude.

I know quite a few guys who have gone FE & several who are now pilots, in fact one who went GE to FE to pilot, posts on pprune fairly frequently.

I know of a couple of blokes who finished their apprenciceships then took up flying as a hoby with our flying club, then got sponsorship to ATPL. Good move if you ask me and I would consider doing similar, except that I am $^ years old and definately past it now!
