A340-500/600 towbars

Is there any difference between towbars for tthe 500/600 series and the earlier models?

The reason I ask is that the Manchester AIS pages show no bars being available - aircraft must use self manouvering stands.

Any response appreciated.

Scottie;

The "OMG, not a bloody 600" bar is different to the more mature busses - a dedicated towbar. Not certain but I think there may be a difference in the diameter of the towpin. You'd almost certainly be looking at different shear loadings.

The A340-500/600 have the same towbars while the -300 has a different one. The two are not compatible in anyway.
