KD Staff made Redundant
I heard today, that KD Baggage handlers at Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra Airports have been told that they will be made redundant next week.
KD Network Support Centre will be combined with Hazelton's Operations Centre in Sydney. This could only mean more redundancies coming up at KD.
Any truth?

Don't know about the bag chuckers but other redundancy notices are floating around too - I believe since last Friday. At least 'some' are CRJ backroom staff...effective end of this week. Not sure if it is already common knowledge but I'm told Greg Vaughan is 'end of contract' and Lindsay Tanner takes on a significant role with KD/Australia Wide 'shortly'.
Looks like the CRJ pilots are on the way out too. The AFAP sought an order to prevent this, based on the seniority provisions of the EBA, however, the commssion declined, saying
"... the granting of an order of the type sought by AFAP would substantially increase the risk that the sale would not be completed by AWA, having regard to likely additional costs and disruption in the context of a presently tenuous airline operation. In this regard, I find that it is more probable than not that the making of an order of the type sought would frustrate completion, creating a very significant risk of liquidation of the airline and the termination of the employment of all pilots (and other Kendell employees). It would be a perverse result if the making of an order directed to the maintenance of the employment of certain pilots resulted in the termination of all pilots and other employees."
