Info on Southern

This may already have been covered here but if not the following may be of interest (info from Southern staff):
- Southern to cease to exist on 27 October this year
- 146s to go to NJ/Airlink
- Dash-8s to join Eastern
- F/As to go to QF mainline
- flight crew to initially go to NJ (Airlink) and later 'domoted' to Dash-8s.

Has anything been decided on what will happen to Southern's jet routes from CBR?? Rumours have said 717s for a while but no word on more of these beauties.

146s to stay in CBR until at least Oct next year.

The 146 pilots, in between being told how inferior they are and generally getting right royally rogered, have been told that the Melbourne and Canberra crew bases will remain for the period of the 12 month secondment.

One could infer that if they are keeping 146 crew bases there then the 146s would stay on those routes.

Having said that, certain managers may have plucked fiqures from their freckles that it's cheaper for them to fly routes in Outer Mongolia and ferry home to CBR each night.
