Light at the end of the tunnel?
The world is always going to need pilots and these pilots are going to have to find work......somewhere.
As a low time pilot, I understand this question may result in a barrage of "I did it tough, now your going to have to" responses, so with all the respect in the world I ask the question, does anyone see a future in GA in this country, building hours in the traditional way and working your way to the top, or has it realistically settled around "who you know not what you know", or has it always been like that?
To those of you who are thinking is this guy for real, rest assured I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I started, and expect to be doing it tough for a long time to come, just wanted to get some opinions of where others may think aviation is headed in the future...

Hey 34R,
There is an excellent post that has been hanging around for a couple of weeks that gave a lot of people in your position hope.
Someone else may be able to tell you the post name - it is definately worth the read.
Low time pilots have to be in 'the right place at the right time'.
Become a LAME in your spare time - you'll have excellent quals if you can fly and engineer.
Aviation is definately on its way up again!
Cheers.
