JT makes his first stop...
John Travolta visits Auckland
John Travolta is piloting his own jet on a world tour to promote Qantas and is in New Zealand.
The acting super-star's first stop was in Auckland where he spoke of his love of flying.
Travolta says, "I love aviation and I love acting and when I got blue about acting, aeroplanes cheered me up. And when I needed money to support aeroplanes, acting cheered me up."
But Travolta was not just touting flying on his "Spirit of Friendship" mission. He is also a fan of New Zealand.
"I was here last year and it's a magnificent country and I'm very thrilled to be here," he says.
He is flying his own Boeing 707, painted in Qantas colours from the 1960's, with a full backup crew so he can rest, shower or eat whenever he likes.
Travolta has over 5,000 hours in jet airplanes and says he likes landing and taking off but often leaves the cruising to his crew.
He will be travelling for the next few months around the globe to promote the airline.

Money does bring some privileges.
None of that boring stuff in between, a bit like one of our colourful locals "record attempts" really .
It's great exposure for QF but I wonder if the people are there to see JT and QF is just the sideshow and who is getting more from whom. I guess that's advertising and showbiz, which are maybe the same thing.
Dont think QF and Mr Dixon 'll ever surpass the kids and the "I still call Australia home." ad. Fair gives me goose bumps it does.
