Rough Data to be Checked Before Use
I flew there a couple of times about 12 years ago. I am not up to date with PNG so please do further research.
Bensbach is near the Irian Jaya or West Papua Border in the SW corner of PNG.
From the ONC N-14 map (these maps have had mistakes in the past) the strip is roughly S08.51.0 E141.16.0 degrees
All I can remember is it was fairly long and fairly flat grass with nothing special about it except that it was flat and long! The rough strip details recorded on the ONC are maybe NW/SE direction, maybe 2800' long and elevation maybe 30'.
You might do better asking on the PNG photo nostalgia topic for general info. For reliable info I would call a company in country. Someone must fly their supplies and tourists in.
Besbach then was a fishing and birdwatching type place with comfortable but not luxurious accommodation, which charged a rate commensurate with making money in the wilderness.
Regards.

Usda be a top spot for a feed of "surf and turf".
shoot a deer out of a dinghy while youre trolling for barra.
Airstrip was a little short then in the olden days.
Like most things in PNG nowdays the place is probably rooted.

The RAAF Aeronautical Information Service produces Enroute Supplement type books, one for small strips (less than 3000 ft I think) and one for the larger ones, covering PNG. They are for military use, but given that they work pretty closely with airservices in this department you could possibly buy one if you contact them via the number in the Australian ERSA. Worth a try anyway.
They're very handy for PNG and fairly accurate.
Unfortunately I had to give those books back or I'd just quote the info straight up.

I made several visits to Bensbach and Morehead, just up the road, whilst recovering my Cessna 180 from the nearby Mission Strip at Arufi. Brian Bromley owned the lodge at Bensbach and I enjoyed drinking SP with him on several occasions and with others. Place had the best Barramundi fishing North of the Black Stump. Haven't been there for many a year, but agree with Vegemite, the place is probably well and truly rooted by the non reflectives by now.
