Question Qantas recruiting direct entry 737 FO's?

Searching pilot job sites today and found this;

Position Offered: Boeing 737 First Officers Tue Jul 2 15:30:01 2002
Boeing 737 First Officers required with at least 3000 on turbine operations, hold an Australian commercial pilots licence with multi-engine command and ATPL. 1st class medical required. Applicants must be permanent residents of Australia.

Qantas Airways
Contact Details: Flight Recruitment, Qantas Pilot Recruitment Flight Operations QCC/3 203 Coward Street Mascot, NSW 2020 Australia. Please quote reference: PilotCrewJobs.com

So what are Qantas up to, are they planning a no frills airlines with the 737?

This is an American website. If this is legitimate, why isn't Qantas advertising the positions from their own website? A bit strange?

Very bizarre considering the allocations from just a couple of days ago show heaps of new 737 F/Os- 81 to be precise- over the next twelve months.

Perhaps they think they will be short until they can get them all trained up and are after some contract crews for the next six to 12 months!

Interesting times.

That's got to be a wind-up. Surely QF already has the CV of every unemployed Australian pilot with over 3000 turbine hours!

Unhappy

Further to Sopwith's post. AIPA advise that QF has advised them that they have placed no such add and that it is fake.

Sorry to disapoint those who were hopeful of the real deal.
