Good on you for achieving those things but I don't want to sound patronising I doubt a job will come to you like that.
Most jobs you have to go and get. If you want to instruct you usually have to find your own students. If you want to do charter then you'll more than likely have to head up north or west.

Thanks for your replies guys.

It looks like the best place to start door knocking would be up north. Because they would be doing more flying cause of the good wx????

Also, anyone got any hints how to best attract new students to a flying school?

pa28capt - why didn't the school you did your instructor rating at give you any clues as to how to go about the right way of getting a job? Did they not you give any "hands on" time within their own organisation as part of your Instructor Rating? Did they just give you the basic 9 briefs and minimum 50 hours before churning you out the door? How much did you pay for the rating? Just interested to know how or whether your training organisation looked after you. Good hunting!

I have done all the necessary briefs, 23 of them, and know them and not just able to reproduce the info but know what i am talking about.

My instructor course took just under five months to complete and in no way was I just a product of a sausage factory.

I ended up doin approximately 60hrs of flying as I was taught to a much higher standard than the usual instructor.

However, that is my opinion and the only way anyone will ever believe that is if they give me a check flight and test my knowledge.

It will not compare with a Grade One with 2000hrs instructing, but it is a good start.

pa28capt. First of all, congratulations on your instructor ticket. It's good fun and you'll enjoy it.

Second, you really are in no position to judge whether you're the product of a sausage factory or whether you received good training. How do you know that you're a better teacher, or were taught to a higher standard, than the 'usual instructor'? Is that what your instructor told you? 5 months and 60 hours tells an entirely different story.

If you really expect an offer (or serious advice) from anybody that frequents this forum - lose the attitude.

I agree with Beer Bong, these guys have no idea what the market is like when doing their degree, and I can bet most of them would be in for the shock of their lives when they get out in the real world. Saw a resume from a guy that had the Aviation degree and he listed `baby sitting' as one of his previous jobs....
FFS PA28capt how can you `know what your talking about' when you havent actually instructed before?? mate 10 points for attitude and none for researching `ways to act around other pilots'....

Apart from that, good luck, but I would be asking your flying school why they didnt give you a job after you finished if they are so good.

AS.
